Fecal testing is a simple but important diagnostic tool we use to check for intestinal parasites, such as worms (roundworms, hookworms, whipworms) and protozoa (like Giardia or coccidia), which can affect your pet’s health. These parasites can cause symptoms like diarrhea, weight loss, or a dull coat, and some may even pose risks to humans.
During testing, we examine a small sample of your pet’s stool under a microscope to identify any parasite eggs or organisms. Routine fecal tests are recommended at least once a year, or more often if your pet shows symptoms or is at higher risk. Early detection allows us to treat infestations quickly, keeping your pet healthy and protecting your family.
